Stay with Us – Comfortable Accommodation at Jackson Bay
Our two-story home offers a relaxed and flexible accommodation option for guests joining us on charter adventures - or simply looking for a peaceful West Coast getaway.
Downstairs Accommodation:
Two bedrooms and a bathroom
An additional fully furnished, private sleepout bedroom
Each room can be configured as king beds or singles
Sleeps up to 8 guests across the three bedrooms
Upstairs:
A spacious lounge and kitchen, available for guest use
The owner's private bedroom and bathroom are also on this level
The kitchen and lounge areas are welcoming shared spaces. We may also be able to offer a “catch and cook” experience - where your freshly caught fish becomes dinner - depending on our availability.
This is a great spot not only for fishing trips but also for those wanting to unwind. It's especially ideal for partners or family members who would rather enjoy a relaxing day at the house or spend time walking along the beach than head out on the water.

Nearby Walks and Attractions
Wharekai-Te Kou Walk
An easy 20-minute walk from Jackson Bay to Ocean Beach, this family-friendly trail includes tidal pools and informative interpretation panels.
Smoothwater Bay Track
A moderate 1.5 to 2-hour tramp following an old pioneer trail before wading down the river to the secluded Smoothwater Bay. Sturdy footwear is recommended.
Lake Ellery Track
A peaceful 1 to 2-hour return walk through native beech forest to a glacier-formed lake, following the scenic Ellery Stream. Ideal for walking or launching a small boat.
Jackson Bay Wharf
The departure point for your Jackson Bay Charters adventure. It’s also a great spot to fish from. In summer, enjoy a legendary meal from The Craypot-famous for its fish and chips.

Hunting is permitted in nearby DOC-managed areas. Be sure to check the Department of Conservation website for current guidelines and open zones.
Trout and Salmon Fishing is excellent during the season, with local rivers and lakes such as Lake Moeraki and Lake Paringa offering prime conditions.
